Sai Baba
(from "Quintessence of Sai Satcharitra"):

On Sai Baba's return to Shirdi for the second and final time he initially chose the place adjacent to Lord Khandoba's temple as his shelter, but the orthodox devotees of the temple did not accept that. For Baba was seen as a Muslim fakir, and how could a Muslim fakir be allowed to stay on the premises of the ancient and sacred Hindu temple? Even Malsapati, who called the fakir for the first time Sai and revered him as an enlightened saint, he, too, told Baba that because he is a Muslim, he could not allow him to enter the temple or the shrine of the Lord. But just as he was the one who first named the fakir Sai, he again was the instrument to direct Baba to go and take shelter in the dilapidated old mosque in Shirdi. By divine design, he became the instrument to name the unknown fakir as Sai, and also his shelter, which became the most sacred pilgrimage, and came to be known as Dwarkamai.

Hearing Malsapati's words, Baba responded, "Both Hindu and Islam religions have been created by the Lord who is One. He is called by different Names, those who are seekers of Truth should not nurture any kind of discrimination about different faiths, but should sincerely follow the rituals of their own religion. Never look down upon any religion or belittle any religion. Instead, you should always see the One Lord who is Sat-cit-ananda in all the forms and Names of the Lord. Ho is prayed to as Allah Ilahi by the Muslims and is called Shesha Sai by the Hindus. He is your Lord Khandoba. The wise never discriminate between caste and creed. Both Temple and Mosque coexist. Seekers of Truth never belittle or glorify one against the other. As you have instructed me, I will have darshan, I will see, Lord Khandoba from distance. In the mythological books, it is mentioned that to Lord Pandarinath (Khandoba), Chokia Mahar was closer to Him than the priest of the temple of the Lord. He whose mind and heart is pure can stay anywhere, but is closer to God forever."

The light in the words of the merciful Lord Sainath dispelled the darkness in Malsapati's mind. In a few months' time, Malsapati invited and brought Sai Baba to this temple and told him that the holiness and purity of the temple had increased by the divine presence of Baba there.
