Sannyasi Bijoy Krishna

(from "Shree Shree Bijoy Krishna - His divine life and sermons"):

Haridas babu, one of the disciples of Bijoy Krishna Goswami, saw during Kumbha Mela that some brother disciples, after sleeping for some hours at night woke up late at night and engaged in japa and meditation. Goswamiji often went into samadhi during keertan in the evenings. Some brother disciples too were found to be immersed in satwik bhava. Finding himself to be devoid of any such divine bhava or satwik signs he felt contempt for himself. He felt that probably because of his lawyer's profession based on falsehood, his mind was in such a miserable state. To clear his doubt he expressed his pain to Goswamiji and his desire to quit the lawyer's profession.

Goswamiji consoled him and said, "Haridas! You are not in a condition to give up your profession as a lawyer now; nor will it be good for you. Continue in your profession while being cautious and fair as far as possible and put your earnings to good use. Don't feel sad. Stay satisfied in whatever condition God keeps you at a certain time. God is omnipotent. He will give you dharma if He so wishes even while keeping you in this hell. Nothing can happen without His grace."

Haridasbabu's mind was pacified on hearing Goswamiji's words. It may be noted that Haridasbabu used to remain engaged in naamsadhana all the time in the last years of his life. His nature and mind had changed completely. He had published several books in Bengali about Goswamiji and his own spiritual experiences.
